Truman Lake Cabins

wp690eea93.jpg

Nestled in the Missouri hills, less than a half mile to a boat ramp on Truman Lake, Fincachivo borders more than 100,000 acres of nature preserve surrounding a 56,000 acre lake.  It is perfect for fishermen, hunters, nature lovers and folks in need of a break from the hustle and bustle of the 21st century. Accommodations range from a two bedroom suite with full kitchen and cable television to rustic cabins in the woods. Karen can provide information on local dining and antiquing while Mike can usually be coaxed into providing impromptu guitar/banjo concerts at the community fire pit after the livestock have been tended.  The small goat herd provides landscaping services under the watchful eye of the security team, led by donkey Ebony with the assistance of bloodhound Loony.

Fincachivo Lodge & Goat Farm (outlined in yellow above) is located on 5 acres, with Army Corps of Engineers public access property on two sides. Note: Mack's Camp Ave. is shown as SW 280 on most Internet map sites.

Sugar Camp Hollow, just over the ridge from Fincachivo, is on Corps land, managed by the Missouri Department of Conservation.

The two bedroom suite is located on the ground floor of the main cabin, with the rustic cabins, Clay's Creek Cottage and Hubbs Hill Bunkhouse, in the nearby woods.

Karen takes a minute to go over the day's grazing plan with the landscaping crew, responsible for keeping the brush under control.
